TechTools 2007 Awards – Best Operating System
December 17th, 20072007 saw the release of many operating systems, although there were two that caught the attention of the entire world. Microsoft released its highly anticipated Vista operating system on January 30, 2007. Vista was released five years following the release of Microsoft’s last operating system, Windows XP and unfortunately for Microsoft the new operating system did not live up to its expectations.
2007 was truly a great year for Apple, the company made history and that could be proven by the increase in its stock price. As you read earlier, we awarded Apple with the release of its iPhone for the TechTools 2007 Award for Best Cell Phone. We will be honoring Apple again, but for a totally different product. Apple’s Leopard Operating System has won the TechTools 2007 Award for Best Operating System, making this the second award for Apple and potentially not the last. Apple’s Leopard succeeded Tiger and it was released on October 26, 2007. Here is a photo of a Leopard desktop interface.
Leopard has truly changed the way people use their computers and it will surely not be the last operating system released by Apple. Even though the release of Leopard was significantly delayed, it still was able to impress millions of people all over the world and there is no reason why we should not award Leopard for being the best operating system of 2007.
